Since moving to New York City in September 2011, my primary means of getting around is on a bicycle. I ride about 80-100 miles a week year round and I think it’s one of the best ways to explore this city. It’s quick and above ground. You’re forced to learn the roads and you can quickly get off the standard routes of transit lines and roads. Often, I carry a point and shoot with me so I can photograph things while I’m riding around. This was taken on a ride home after work in May, as the weather turns from mostly rainy and cold to something like Spring.
