We started using the Canon C100 at Talking Eyes Media recently. It is a beautiful camera for a number of reasons, but the only hurdle we had to really jump was incorporating the AVCHD recording format into our Canon DSLR workflow. We are still using Final Cut Pro 7, which cannot read DSLR or the C100 native files, so we have to transcode all of our work before editing. I think most people in this industry will transition to FCP X, Adobe Premiere Pro, etc. in the next couple of years. But, until that happens, a solid and reliable workflow is needed for the C100.
If you’re one of those people, check out Part 1: Archiving and Part 2: Transcoding of the workflow on TEM’s blog.
